Time reports that Walmart has recalled 174,000 dolls due to complaints of dangerous overheating that could seriously injure children.
The “My Sweet Love/My Sweet Baby Cuddle Care Doll” features a circuit board on the doll’s chest that has a tendency to overheat during use. According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there have been 12 reports of overheating, and two cases of burns or blisters resulting from the dolls.
Consumers who have purchased the dolls are advised to take them away from children, remove the batteries and return them to Walmart for a refund.
