Driving a Kia? Careful: The Korean automobile manufacturer is recalling more than 70,000 of its Optima cars due to a potential defect in their shift cables.

In a document filed with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, Kia said the cars’ cables may be improperly installed and could detach from the shifter assembly. That, in turn, could leave the driver unable to shift the transmission using the gear lever. The recall includes certain Optimas from the 2006 through 2008 model years.

Kia is far from the only carmaker to have made production mistakes recently. Just this month, Honda, Jaguar, Ford, and Hyundai also issued vehicle recalls.
