KTLA reports that Kraft Foods Group has issued a voluntary recall of more than 1.2 million cases of their cottage cheese products due to improper storage temperatures at their manufacturing facility in Tulare, California that could lead to premature spoilage or illness.
Brands affected by the recall include Knudsen Cottage Cheese, Breakstone’s Cottage Cheese, Simply Kraft Cottage Cheese and Daily Chef Cottage Cheese, all with code dates between May 9 and July 23, 2014. All of the products were distributed in the U.S.
Consumers who purchased cottage cheese affected by the recall are advised not to eat it, and to return it to the store where it was purchased for a refund. It is unclear whether the recall is linked to any illnesses or adverse events.
