James A. Chortanian
James A. Chortanian is an associate attorney at Hodes Milman, where his practice is focused on prosecuting medical negligence and personal injury matters. For nearly nine years, James defended physicians, hospitals, and other healthcare providers in medical malpractice cases. In 2022, he joined Hodes Milman to pursue his true passion of helping victims of negligence.
James’ experience gives him unique insight into the workup and strategy used on both sides of medical negligence and personal injury litigation. This allows him to anticipate opposing tactics and obtain the best possible results for his clients, including arbitration victories and multiple seven-figure recoveries. James’ success has earned him recognition as a “Rising Star” in medical malpractice by Super Lawyers Magazine from 2020 – 2025.
Education
James graduated cum laude from Whittier Law School and earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science at the University of California, Irvine.
