A 46 year-old mother died of breast cancer after her primary care physician and radiologist failed to read an ultrasound correctly, which was ordered because of abnormalities in her left breast. After seeking a second opinion from another doctor, she was told that the abnormality was cancerous and underwent immediate treatment. Ultimately, the cancer spread to three other areas of her body, and the patient was unable to overcome the disease. Hodes Milman partner Jeffrey Milman represented the decedent’s children in the case, winning a settlement of $525,000 on behalf of the family.
