A 35-year-old man sustained a serious head injury when his motorcycle collided head-on with a Jeep. The man was riding on surface streets when the driver of the Jeep, a 17-year-old minor, made a sudden left-hand turn across his path, colliding with his motorcycle. Paramedics found him unconscious, with blood trickling from his nose. At the hospital, the trauma team found bleeding in his brain, and placed him in an induced coma to minimize swelling of the brain and further injury. He also suffered a fractured wrist and multiple lacerations. Thanks to the quick action of the paramedics and the hospital trauma team, his brain injury was minimal, and he is expected to recover 99% of his pre-injury ability. Kevin Liebeck of Hodes Milman represented the plaintiff in a personal injury case, alleging that the collision was caused by the other driver’s negligence. The case was settled for the policy limit of $300,000.
