A youth boxing coach at the Eddie Heredia Boxing Club in East L.A. was arrested on December 29th under accusations of molesting a 13-year-old female student. Ex-boxing Olympian Paul Gonzales, 53, was charged this week with eight felony counts, including four counts of committing lewd acts upon a 13-year-old girl and possession of child pornography.

Our Investigation

Hodes Milman has a long-standing record of representing individuals who have been wronged or harmed by large corporations, small businesses, and when necessary, sexual predators. Unfortunately, the latest incident of child molestation charges has occurred at a boxing club in Los Angeles that provided after-school programs for many youth.

According to a Los Angeles Times report, it is not known whether the sexual acts occurred at the Eddie Heredia Boxing Club located at East Olympic and South Atlantic Boulevards. Given Paul Gonzales’ tenure, it is believed that more victims may exist.

Our firm intends to investigate whether the city was aware or otherwise warned of Gonzales’ predatory behavior, if any steps were taken to protect the children and whether Gonzales or any adult was allowed to be left alone with minors. Eddie Heredia Boxing Club is operated by the city of Los Angeles and included 40 boy and 15 girl participants ranging from 8 to 19 years old at the time of Gonzalez’s arrest.
