Daniel Hodes discusses with CBC how his client Spencer Sullivan, a vibrant, healthy 39-year-old was left severely brain-damaged and quadriplegic after multiple errors by an incompetent nurse. After a neck surgery in 2001, the post-op nurse made multiple critical mistakes, including improperly regulating his medication, not taking notes on Mr. Sullivan’s chart, and not regularly checking up on him. After realizing that Mr. Sullivan had suffered serious injury as the result of her negligence, she did not call for help right away. Mr. Hodes obtained a $6 million settlement for his client; unfortunately, the negligent nurse continues to practice in Canada.
