Nestle USA, the manufacturer of DiGiorno and California Pizza Kitchen frozen pizzas, issued a voluntary recall of some of its pizzas due to consumer complaints of clear plastic fragments on their California Pizza Kitchen Crispy Thin White Crust Pizza.

In addition to the CPK Crispy Thin White Crust Pizza, the varieties of pizza recalled include California Pizza Kitchen Limited Edition Grilled Chicken with Cabernet Sauce, DiGiorno Crispy Flatbread Pizza Tuscan Style Chicken and DiGiorno pizzeria! Bianca/White Pizza. Nestle attributed the plastic fragments to a contaminated lot of spinach from a supplier, leading them to recall all pizza varieties containing the spinach.

The affected pizzas were produced in February and March of 2013. Consumers who purchased pizzas with the affected UPC and production codes are urged to contact Nestle for a replacement.
