The American Board of Trial Advocates
Unique in nature as it includes both plaintiffs and defense lawyers, the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) is a national association of highly-experienced lawyers and judges who work together to preserve the jury system and defend the 7th Amendment – a right to trial by jury.
ABOTA believes there is a pressing need for the benefit of society ensuring legal advocates combining skill and integrity who will steadfastly stand by our jury system.
Founding partners, Dan Hodes and Jeff Milman are both members of ABOTA and have participated in the organization for more than two decades.
Super Lawyers & Rising Stars
Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding lawyers from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement. The patented selection process includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations.
Super Lawyers Rising Stars selection process for the Rising Stars list is the same as the Super Lawyers selection process, with one exception: to be eligible for inclusion in Rising Stars, a candidate must be either 40 years old or younger or in practice for 10 years or less.
Dan Hodes and Jeff Milman have both been nominated to Super Lawyers several years in a row, including Top 100 Lawyers in Southern California and Top 50 Lawyers in Orange County.

Presented in up to 72 “Practice Specialty” categories, the Awards are based on actual “Verdict & Settlement” dollar victories rather than peer popularity, making them perhaps the most rigorous and openly judged Award Ratings anywhere.
Those awarded join an exclusive group of lawyers who have won Multi-Million and/or Billion Dollar cases – a feat achieved by fewer than 1% of all lawyers. Of the nearly 1.1 Million lawyers considered, only a select few – about 12 Law Firms – per Metro Market (Los Angeles and Orange County), will achieve the distinction
